Here's what we were working with - bare ground along the entire foundation, sod and weeds running right up to the house, and zero curb appeal to speak of. No beds, no plants, nothing. It's actually one of the more common starting points we see, and honestly, it's one of our favorite problems to solve.

We started by clearing everything out. That meant stripping the sod, pulling weeds, and getting the ground prepped and ready to work with. From there, we laid down landscape fabric the full length of the beds to keep things clean and cut down on long-term maintenance for the homeowner. Getting that groundwork right is what makes everything hold up over time.

Then came the fun part - the plants. We put together a mix that gives this yard some real character. Ornamental grasses, hydrangeas, daylilies, and a weeping cherry tree as the centerpiece on the side of the house. It's a combination that gives you texture, color, and something interesting to look at in every season. Nothing in this plant mix was accidental.

We finished everything off with a thick layer of dark mulch throughout the beds, which pulls the whole design together and makes the plants pop against the siding. The front beds run clean along the foundation with a gravel path leading to the door - simple, sharp, and functional. The side of the house got its own bed with the weeping cherry anchoring the corner.

The customer loved it, and we did too. That reaction at the end of a job like this - going from bare dirt to something this clean - is exactly why we do what we do. If your yard is sitting at square one, we know exactly where to start.
